He/Him
Marketing strategy and implementation
About
Wherever I go, my job is connecting the dots
Ten years in marketing. I started as a copywriter and strategist in Mississippi, moved agency-side running client programs, and spent the last several years in-house running departments. So I have been the freelancer, the agency, and the client.
That's the whole reason this business exists. I have been the person in the marketing department holding a plan I believed in and watching it sit there, and I learned to find help that needed one person's approval: mine. I have been doing it for years.
I write Python and HTML, so I build the thing rather than describing it to someone who will. That matters more than it sounds. It means the estimate and the build come from the same person, and it means I can tell you early when something is better left alone.
The best work still comes from human thinking. Original ideas, real perspective, genuine connection. Machines should take the repetitive and the mechanical so your people spend their week on the work only they can do. Every system I build is designed around that line.
The track record
Numbers from roles I held.
Where I have done it
I have a habit of walking in to write copy and walking out running the department. That pattern is the reason this business exists: the fastest way to find what is worth fixing is to do the work yourself first.
Joseph Studios
2022 to 2024
Copywriter → Director of Content Marketing → Director of Media Marketing
Started on contract writing content. Took over the content department, then took media on top of it, running PR, content and influencer programs across 30 clients. Broke the data silos between departments into one shared database, lifted organic traffic 50% for named clients, and raised domain authority across 18 accounts with a 30% average lift in new users.
Dash Technologies
2020 to 2022
Marketing Associate → Marketing Manager
Started on the subsidiary brand handling social, web and print, then moved up to run marketing for the parent company. Led a ten-person distributed department on a $30,000 monthly budget, drove a 200% increase in sales-qualified leads, grew social following 425%, and put fifteen target keywords on the front page of Google in a competitive local market.
ImagineNation
2023 to 2024
Cofounder and Project Manager
Designed and shipped client websites, brand guides and wireframes, and managed a distributed team of designers and developers against real budgets and real deadlines. This is where managing people across four time zones stopped being theory.
Independent
2017 to present
Copywriter and marketing consultant
Top Rated on Upwork across landing pages, website copy, television commercials and case studies. This is where I learned to interview an expert and turn what they said into something that sells, which is the skill the whole interview-to-content system is built on.
Who you would be working with
I build with people I have worked with long enough to trust on a client's systems. Which of them works with you depends on what your plan recommends.
Thomas
Automation reliability
Thomas is the reason a system still works in month six. He watches the builds after handover, catches the integration that quietly stopped syncing, and fixes it while your team is still getting their reports on time. Fifteen years of this means he has seen most of the ways an automation fails, and almost all of them are dull. It's usually a renamed field or an expired token.
15 years keeping systems running
Evelyn
Project management
Evelyn runs the build once the blueprint is written. She holds the scope, the sequence and the deadline, which on a thirty-day build matters more than any individual clever idea. Ten years across both software and marketing, so she can talk to a developer and to a CMO in the same afternoon and let each of them stay in their own language.
10 years shipping software and campaigns
Whatever gets built lands in accounts you own, documented well enough that your team can keep it running on their own.
Certifications
Formal training, mostly in the unglamorous parts: analytics, technical SEO, and talking to the people who control budgets.
Plus further coursework through Google, LinkedIn and HubSpot in e-commerce, customer loyalty, account-based marketing, personal branding and business writing.
Every marketing team I have joined had the same problem underneath the surface problem. Everyone could feel where the week went, and putting it on paper was another matter, so every decision about tools, headcount and priorities came down to a guess wearing a plan's clothes. Once you can see the week, the right answer becomes obvious, whether that's a system, a contractor or a hire. Finding it is the whole job.
